AHTS Hull Build

Bilge pumps 1

Bilge pumps 1

For the two bilge pumps I needed to mount the probes for the water detection pump controls and also provide a strained inlet to the pumps - they are the gear type which don't handle debris well. I forgot to take pictures as I went.

I cut two lengths of plasic pipe and then cut chunks out of one end to leave three legs. These openings were then screened by wrapping fine mesh round and gluing it in place. I had some bent ally tube so a plastic platform was made to fit in the pipe with holes and slots cut to support the tube. A slot to provide for adjusting the sensor probes was also made. The assemblies were then glued onto the bottom of the hull - this is the aft one.
