AHTS Hull Build

27 Aug 2012. Having let the rudder bearings set overnight I fitted the propshafts and associated bits and bobs. The Kort nozzles (the cream cylinders) have a whitemetal casting that acts as a pedestal to the hull. However, in any comfortable fitting together of the parts I simply couldn't accommodate these as they were - they seemed too thick or at too steep an angle. Rather than try to make the rest of the fittings adapt to these supports I basically got everything else into a happy state, then cut the centres out of the supports and with some judicious filing fitted them in from the sides like wedges. The space btween the nozzles and hull will be filled later on.

The assembly was then tacked together with superglue in the state seen here.
