First stage of construction. The mid-level part-deck/former was made to match the base from a few pages ago, but is a little shorter at the front due to the sloping wall and longer at the aft end as the superstructure is longer than the opening in the deck. The parallel parts of the sides and the aft wall were then glued to this.

The forward part of the superstructure tapers a bit, so before doing this the side walls were grooved and bent in, but at the stage shown here have not yet been glued to the former.
