I bought the decoder a couple of years ago, but now (Jan 2007) the availability of decent, factory fitted sound at a reasonable price makes doing it yourself only worthwhile if you absolutely have to have a particular loco that isn't available (yet). This pic shows the open brass grilles (Precision Scale #3931) fitted into the dynamic brake housing inplace of the solid molded items.
