I used 'daylight' compact fluorescents for lighting. The layout is 2' wide and forms an 8'x8' L. One cover is 8'x2' and the other 6'x2', with each having stiffeners every 2'. I decided to use a 25 watt CFL in each 2' square cell as seen here, and this seems to give a reasonable light. (Each lamp is supposed to be equivalent to a 125 watt standard bulb.) You can also see the support pulley here. To avoid heat build up in this space (even CFLs get warm) I made small slots in the sides at the top to allow a little air to escape without letting dust in - these are most visible in the previous picture. |
