HO 'Steelworks' baseboards

Fiddle yard 3

Fiddle yard 3

The yard is at 90 degrees to the layout, so entry is via a curve of track. The angled board is the bridge section and is loose - it rests on brackets at each end and is located with dowels in slots. The track is fixed to a piece of wood (brown in the picture) at the layout end, which is adjustable to align correctly. At the yard end it is just connected with joiners to the turnout. It is not fixed anywhere else, so along with the 'loose' bridge, movement between the layout (free-standing) and yard (fixed) can be accommodated.
