Highline 1

Highline 1

Minerals are loaded into the blast furnace by skips hauled up an inclined track at the side of the furnace. The skips are loaded with the correct proportions by a batching system that is fed from local bins. Along the top of these bins are railway tracks where hoppers can dump their loads of ore, etc, into the bins.
This is called the highline.
