The Tortoise machines are fed from a regulated +7.5/0/-7.5 VDC power supply via single-pole 2 position switches and series LEDs. This gives about 6 Volts at the motor terminals which gives a comfortable rate of travel.
The switches and LEDs are mounted in aluminium channel which normally hooks over screws on the side of the baseboard.
